A Commitment to Future Generations

MISA is currently working to develop its Sustainability target for 2030. To achieve this goal, MISA has engaged the Governance & Accountability Institute “G&A Institute” to conduct a materiality assessment and is currently assessing Scopes 1, 2 and 3 GHG calculations that will be used as a basis for sustainability targets and initiatives. We are committed to reduce the impact that our products and operations may have on the environment.

We continue to evaluate and implement energy conservation and other initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our business.

MISA is committed to continuously creating a business environment that values the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, their families, and the communities in which we live and do business.

The safety of our employees is one of our core values and priorities. In 2005, MISA created a Safety & Engineering Team Dept which focuses on promoting safety across all of our operations. At MISA we believe Safety starts by building the right culture, processes, and systems, and a commitment to do “the Right Thing, the Right Way, Every time”. MISA’s Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) since 2019 has averaged 2.2, significantly lower than the 2020 Metals Service Center Institute average of 3.5. MISA’s Safety & Engineering Team continues to develop innovative approaches across all our operations to drive safety improvement towards a zero-harm environment.
