DESCRIPTION:
Marubeni-Itochu Steel America (MISA) is part of a global team trading in a wide range of steel products. The MISA team is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager in our Headquarters office.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing payroll operations, employee benefits supporting compliance activities and ensuring accurate reporting and communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Administration
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, including payroll requests, payroll checks, and W-2 review and approval
• Manage payroll reporting by state and maintain Unicap spreadsheets
• Oversee expatriates tax processes to ensure accurate compliance

Benefits Administration
• Lead ACA administration, including reviewing and updating ACA forms before annual distribution
• Play a key role in annual open enrollment, including benefit system setup, vendor meetings, material review, planning, and support
• Prepare and deliver annual open enrollment presentations
• Maintain and update the Monthly Benefits Spreadsheet
• Oversee benefit vendor invoice processing, including reconciliation and accuracy checks
• Lead benefit communications to employees and support employee inquiries

Leave & Compliance
• Oversee leave management processes, ensuring compliance with policy and legal requirements
• Support Workers’ Compensation activities and audit preparation
• Manage and respond to audit requests related to payroll, benefits, and compliance

Financial & Administrative Support
• Process and manage invoices for payroll, benefits, and related HR operations
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, payroll and benefits, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years relevant experience. Professional certifications a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Usual office working conditions

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS:
$120,000 - $130,000 annualized base salary (determined by experience and work location)
Nonexempt roles are required to receive time-and-one-half overtime for time worked in excess of 40 hours in a calendar week. Any time worked between 35 hours and less than 40 hours in a work week will be compensated at straight time (the current hourly rate) unless otherwise required by applicable law. All positions qualify for our Incentive Compensation Plan.
