Marubeni-Itochu Steel America is part of a global team trading in a wide range of steel products. We are currently seeking an IT Application Engineer for our New York location.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide company system users with technical support as needed and relay information to our development teams for ongoing maintenance and update needs
• Optimize applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades
• Perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures and report the result to development team
• Generate ideas for software innovation based on market trends
• Document development processes, procedures, and application version histories
• Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies
• Develop and maintain various reports by using SSRS or Excel and deploy to production environment
• Understand company business and user operations and feedback into application design
• Other duties as assigned



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to learn and adapt to software. Preferred experience working with SAP. Communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, and computer skills (Word, Excel, SAP, E-mail, etc.) Bilingual language highly preferred: English/Japanese. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Superb collaboration and communication. Great organization and time management. Relevant training and/or certifications as an Application Engineer. Experience with MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, RPA, EDI. May travel as needed.



EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years relevant experience



Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
