Marubeni-Itochu Steel America (MISA) is part of a global team trading in a wide range of steel products. MISA Sales team is currently seeking a Sales Supervisor for our Nashville, TN office.
This position will maintain relationships with existing customers and increase sales by providing exceptional customer support. Provide assistance to junior sales staff who perform administrative and clerical tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Act as the primary contact for customers regarding confirmation of firm orders and forecast requirements, track shipment to fulfill releases •Contacts customers/suppliers frequently to answer questions, resolve general problems, and provide/receive general information. •Supervises and coordinates the timely payment of invoices. Prepares/generates accounting and other related reports via SAP/Excel. •Support branch’s sales operations by preparing credit limits applications, processing orders to suppliers, preparing contracts and invoices and monitoring the account status of each customer. •Oversee, manage, and reconcile inventory levels at processor and warehouses, utilizing data from contracts, purchase orders, shipping and receiving documents, invoices, accounting reports and generated log. Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages. Reports inventory increases or shortages. •Support and assist the sales operation of branch by providing market information, assisting with price build-ups, and identifying potential suppliers and customers. •Manage input SO/DO/Sales Posting/Print Invoice, MRP/FSS system set up and maintenance, Month End Purchase / Sale / Contract Bal / Inventory Check, Part Master Registration, Price Master Registration. •Oversee and manage warehousing and transportation. May negotiate rates with freight forwarding companies and track deliveries and shipments to ensure timely arrival of goods in compliance. Prepare shipping documents for customs clearance. •Assists in the training of new employees and developing the skills of junior co-workers. •Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of steel market and industry. Excellent communication skills as well as organizational skills. Supervisory experience as well as the ability to work well with others, providing training and assistance to junior sales staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, accounting, inventory and purchase order software.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and 3-7 years relevant experience
