MISA Metal Processing, Inc. (MMP) is Headquartered in Portland, Tennessee and is a leading toll processor, experienced in light and heavy gauge slitting of flat roll steel and processing of steel coil into Class 1 Blanks, servicing a variety of steel consuming industries.

We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Manager in our Portland location. The ideal candidate would have experience managing a multi-site/multi-state operation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with senior management, developing and implementing HR strategy and policies

  • Direct responsibility for recruiting, staffing and retention, compensation, payroll, performance management, benefits, communication, training and development.

  • Developing an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and key employee retention and development

  • Ensure HR policy development, documentation, and personnel files are properly prepared and maintained

  • Manage employee relations, communications, and build-maintain relationship with parent company organizations

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws

  • Establish-implement short and long range department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures, and work with plant General Managers to develop staffing related goals and objectives

  • Provide Human Resource leadership, guidance and staff management for multiple locations thru active and on-going interactions with local plant General Managers. Individual must be visible and accessible to remote locations. Regular travel is a requirement.

  • Provide on-going training and development to managers and supervisors

  • Other HR related duties and projects as assigned by Management

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and compliance experience.

  • Experience in a multi-site/multi-state manufacturing environment required. Some travel required.

  • Strong management skills a must.

  • Must have excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.

  • Relocation available
